Situated on the coastline, 'Embers' is a residential project that authentically integrates with the surrounding landscape, emphasising robust materials like local sand rammed earth. Interior detailing highlights pronounced junctions, utilising a mix of light-reflecting gloss and light-absorbing matte finishes. The tile selections create a ripple effect, mimicking water views and reflecting the Bay of Fires environment with fiery-ochre red and deep oceanic blue hues. Aged brass and polished concrete, intended to oxidize over time, contribute to the build aging naturally, echoing the landscape's evolution. 'Embers' strategically nestles into the scenery, maximising surprising volume and thoughtfully highlighted vistas, embodying the adage of 'quality over quantity' in this design and build project.
